Sinningia 'Carolyn' (Carolyn's Hardy Sinningia)
Sun to Part SunZone: 7b-10 36" tall Origin: Hybrid
NEW!
This superb hybrid of Sinningia warmingii x S. tubiflora originated from an anonymous cross donated to the American Gesneriad Society's seed exchange. Sinningia 'Carolyn', named by John Boggan for New York gesneriad expert Carolyn Ripps, has been a fantastic performer in our trials since 2007. For us, it forms a 3' tall x 2' wide patch, which starts to spread in the third year, thanks to the S. tubiflora parent. The 3' tall flower spikes, which first open in late June, are adorned with lightly fragrant, long-tubed, mauvy pink flowers with white throats. For us, S. 'Carolyn' flowers throughout the summer...a superb selection! Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml) #08831

Sinningia leucotricha (Brazilian Edelweiss)
Part Sun to Light ShadeZone: 7b-10 10" tall Origin: Brazil
NEW!
Sinningia leucotricha, which hails from the state of Parana in southern Brazil, has the most stunning foliage in the genus. The new 10" long oval leaves emerge covered in silver hairs, although as the leaves expand the effect of the silver is diminished. In July, the clumps are topped just above the leaves with clusters of narrow, bright orange, tubular flowers. We have grown this in the ground since 2004, during which time it has endured 9 degrees F with no protection. Sinningia leucotricha grows from a large underground caudex that enlarges each year and consequently, the plant becomes more impressive each season. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml) #08789

Sisyrinchium angustifolium 'Lucerne' (Lucerne Blue-Eyed Grass)
Sun to Part SunZone: 5-7 8" tall Origin: USA
This amazing selection of our native blue-eyed grass was made by plantsman Robert Herman, formerly of White Flower Farm, while in Lucerne, Switzerland. The amazingly large, 3/4", blue-purple flowers top the narrow, iris-like foliage from May until July. This selection does not seem to have the proclivity to try and take over the world with aggressive seeding...wonderful! Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml) #04782

Solidago 'Dansolitlem' PP 17,297 (Little Lemon Goldenrod)
SunZone: 5-8 12" tall Origin: Hybrid
From the Danziger Flower Farm breeding program in Israel comes a great little goldenrod with another nonsensical cultivar name. The compact, well-branched, 1' tall x 18" wide clump is topped with a stunning floral show in September...just charming. Solidago 'Dansolitlem' has been particularly outstanding in our trials. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml) #07496

Solidago rugosa 'Lynn Lowrey' (Lynn Lowrey Rough Goldenrod)
SunZone: 5-9, at least 48" tall Origin: USA
NEW!
We are thrilled to offer this fantastic cultivar of the southeast native rough goldenrod, selected by the late Texas plantsman, Lynn Lowrey. Solidago 'Lynn Lowrey' could best be described as a Solidago 'Fireworks' on steroids. The 4' tall x 4' wide, upright clump is clothed with dark green leaves and topped in October with firework-like flower spikes of golden yellow. Thanks to our friends at Yucca Do for sharing this gem. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml) #09119
