From Australia comes one of the more winter hardy of the protea family members....a grevillea cross of Grevillea juniperina x Grevillea rosmarinifolia, made in the early 1960s by P. Moore, who worked at the Yarralumla Government Nursery in Canberra. The 6' tall x 10' wide, deer-resistant shrub is clothed with rigid dark green needles, topped in early spring with small clusters of peachy red flowers. Good drainage, low phosphorous, and dry soils after establishment are key.
