Echeveria runyonii 'Topsy Turvy' (Topsy Turvy Mexican Hen and Chicks)
Sun to Part SunZone: 7b-10 6" tall Origin: Mexico
NEW!
After seven years of growing this in the garden, we finally have enough to offer. This splendid, winter hardy succulent makes a 6" tall x 10" wide offsetting rosette of thick silver-blue leaves. E. runyonii is a Mexican native to rocky cliffs, only discovered in the wild by Yucca Do Nursery in 1990, but named in honor of Dr. Runyon, who brought a Mexican garden specimen into the US in the early 1900s. E. 'Topsy Turvy' is a unique form, named by former Huntington Gardens director and succulent guru Myron Kimnack, in which the leaves are recurved upward and slightly contorted. Dry soils and good drainage in winter are keys to survival in cold climates. Our plants had no problem at 7 degrees F. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
