Sun to Part SunZone: 8-10, at least 6" tall Origin: Brazil
NEW!
Thanks to our friends at Yucca Do, who suggested we try Dyckia choristaminea for winter hardiness. We were thrilled to find that it survived 8 degrees F. with virtually no damage. This fascinating mini-bromeliad from the mountainous state of Rio Grande Do Sul in southern Brazil makes a small 6" tall x 15" wide clump of small rosettes, composed of narrow purple-tinted leaves, each lined with small non-aggressive baby spines. When the clumps mature, they are topped with 15" tall spikes of small, bright yellow flowers. Good drainage in the winter is very important. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
