I love this Crinum x herbertii (C. bulbispermum x C. scabrum) that comes from the Schreck family of Vidor, Texas...no relation to the famed Shrek family of Hollywood, California. Texas plantswoman Marcelle Shepard recognized its value, subsequently naming and distributing it. For us, the 2' tall stalks emerge, starting in late May, topped by heads of wide outfacing tubular flowers of white, each highlighted by dramatic wide cherry red stripes...both inside and out. C.
