One of the classic passalong plants of the deep South is Crinum erubescens...the South American equivalent of our native (and much more difficult to grow) Crinum americanum. The wide, glossy green leaves, to 30" long, form a large clump that actually spreads about by means of a large, underground rhizome. In moist soil, Crinum erubescens will make a large colony, while it is more restrained in normal garden soil. The clumps are topped with 3' tall red stalks of sweetly scented, spidery white flowers that continue all summer, from July to frost. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
