Sarcococca hookeriana var. humilis Purple Stem (Dwarf Sweetbox)
Part Sun to ShadeZone: 6-8, at least 18" tall Origin: Himalayas
NEW!
This wonderful Himalayan member of the boxwood family makes a superb, texturally interesting evergreen groundcover for the woodland garden. The 18" long upright stalks are adorned with narrow glossy green leaves. The stems spread slowly via underground stolons, forming a 4' wide patch in 10 years. In late winter/early spring, the plants are laden with small, but very fragrant white flowers. While sarcococca loves rich organic soils, ours have thrived in less than stellar soils in deep shade. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
