Geranium 'Stephanie' arose at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh from seed sent by the Cambridge University Botanic Garden as G. peloponnesiacum. It was recognized that this seedling was, in fact, a hybrid between the Greek G. peloponnesiacum and the alpine Caucasican species G. renardii. The result was G. 'Stephanie' which forms a 14" tall x 18" wide tight clump of textured, light green, rounded foliage, topped in April and May with upturned, light mauvy blue (RHS 85A/B) flowers, highlighted by dark purple veins that radiate out from the center...a heavy spring bloomer and a stellar performer in our heat and humidity!
