Where else could you find a durable, evergreen groundcover that takes sun or shade? The answer...Taiwan. This selection was made at the University of British Columbia from seed collected by Dick Pearson from the alpine forests of Mt. Hehuan in central Taiwan. Thick, heavily textured, sandpaper-like foliage adorns fuzzy creeping stems (5' wide in 3 years). At the onset of cool nights in fall, the foliage turns a wonderful raspberry color.
