Hosta 'Dixie Chickadee' is a 2004 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of a reverse sport of our earlier introduction Hosta 'Dixie Chick' (Hosta 'Masquerade' x Hosta 'Invincible'). Hosta 'Dixie Chickadee' is a very unusual plant in that the thick, waxy leaves are creamy yellow, edged in dark green and peppered with green flecks...a most unique pattern in hostas. This dwarf grower makes an 8" wide clump, topped in late summer with 1' tall spikes of large lavender flowers that attract hummingbirds.
