Teucrium cossonii (Pineapple Germander)

SunZone: 7b-10, at least 4" tall Origin: Mediterranean Europe

NEW! (aka: T. majoricum) I love this plant and, no, I don't say that about all the plants we grow! This wonderful hot weather, drought-tolerant groundcover hails from the alkaline, rocky regions around Majorca, Spain. T. cossonii forms a tight 4" tall x 4' wide mass (3 years) of stems adorned with tiny grey leaves that have a herby fragrance. We held a Studio 54 reunion-like staff sniff-in, and were still unable to reach a consensus on the exact fragrance, but it ain't pineapple. The evergreen clumps are adorned with short spikes of purple flowers, nonstop from June until frost...an insect favorite. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
