Philodendron 'Hope' was shared with us by plantsman Arley Dugger after it survived a winter in his NC garden. We're now at four winters and counting, including one that actually got quite cold for our part of NC (8 degrees F). P. 'Hope' was selected by Florida's Norman Hickerson from a batch of Philodendron selloum seedlings for its compact habit, to 4' tall x 3' wide in 5 years. In our climate, P. 'Hope' doesn't re-emerge until early June, when the 2' long, glossy green, deeply-lobed, tropical-looking leaves begin to appear. In more tropical areas and when grown as an indestructible house plant, the foliage remains evergreen. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
