Open House/Web-Only! This deer-resistant selection of Pennisetum orientale was discovered by David Skwiot of Sunny Border Nurseries in 1995. Pennisetum 'Karley Rose' (named after David's daughter) stood out from all the other plants in a block of Pennisetum orientale seedlings...for darker green foliage with a much taller and more upright habit. The early summer plumes were also quite a bit larger and a much richer pink than the species. Trials have revealed that Pennisetum 'Karley Rose' is also much hardier than typical Pennisetum orientale. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
