Arisaema sazensoo (Circumcised Hooded Jack-in-the-Pulpit)

Part Sun to Light ShadeZone: 6b-9 12" tall Origin: Japan

Open House/Web-Only! This rare Japanese cobra lily is closely allied to Arisaema sikokianum...yet very different. The two 5-leaflet leaves are held atop 12" stems. The flower, which emerges on a stalk between the leaves, resembles Arisaema sikokianum except for a narrower spadix and a greatly elongated spathe tip that cascades over the front of the large pitcher. Arisaema sazensoo is a non-offsetting species, so plant several unless you're into horticultural celibacy. Would it be sacrilege for me to say that Arisaema sazensoo is more spectacular than Arisaema sikokianum...okay, I'll let you say it! Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
