Echinacea 'Hot Papaya' is one of the most revolutionary coneflowers to hit the market in the coneflower craze. 'Hot Papaya' coneflower from Holland's Arie Blom produces vigorous 3' tall stalks, topped through the summer with an amazing display of lightly fragrant, bright orange pom-poms, surrounded by a row of single drooping petals...attractive to hummingbirds. The flowers of 'Hot Papaya' coneflower emerge orange but quickly change to a brilliant scarlet red...simply unbelievable. The longer we grow Echinacea 'Hot Papaya', the more impressed we are. As with all echinaceas, well-drained soils in winter are essential for good survival.
