We love this Crinum x herbertii (Crinum bulbispermum x Crinum scabrum) that comes from the Schreck family of Vidor, Texas...no relation to the famed Shrek family of Hollywood, California. Texas plantswoman Marcelle Sheppard recognized its value, subsequently naming and distributing it. For us, the 30" tall stalks emerge starting in late May and continue through mid-summer, each topped by heads of 10-13 outfacing, tubular flowers of white highlighted by dramatic, wide, cherry-red stripes...both inside and out. Crinum 'Schreck' is an extraordinarily floriferous plant that reblooms throughout the summer...truly outstanding!
