This Japanese selection of the Chinese Disporum longistylum (not a disporopsis as it is often listed) makes a tight semi-evergreen clump of 18" arching stems, adorned with glossy, dark green leaves, each highlighted by a bright golden center. When used en masse, Disporum 'Shina no tsuki' (translated as "China Moon") brightens a summer woodland garden and makes a great textural contrast when planted near ferns. The clumps are topped in May (NC) with small, white, terminal flowers and followed in winter by dark blue-black fruit.
