Finally, we have enough to offer of this great native woodlander that can be found from Canada south to Georgia. This 4" tall x 8" wide clumper has thick clover-shaped foliage, appearing similar to a cutleaf asarum. The foliage on many clones is attractively mottled with muted silver patterns. In a hot, dry summer the foliage may go dormant in mid-to-late summer. Hepatica acutiloba prefers a well-drained to dry woodland site. The tiny flowers, which range from white to blue, appear on 6" stalks in early spring...extremely cute! Our offerings are nursery-propagated from seed which takes about as long as waiting for Paris Hilton to make an intelligent statement...okay, maybe not quite that long.
