This is the lovely, pure white-flowered form of the old fashioned bleeding heart complete with the pocketbook flowers. The 3' wide, deer-resistant clump breaks ground in late winter and is adorned with 2' tall stalks of drooping floral panicles composed of small, white, heart-shaped, hummingbird-attracting flowers from late March through May. When flowering ends, it's ready to go to sleep for the summer when everyone else wakes up. Dicentra spectabilis 'Alba' was named as one of the top 200 plants of the last 200 years by the Royal Horticultural Society...quite an honor.
