For all those out there with the same nickname, Hosta 'Big Mama' is an oldie-but-goodie from the famed Long Island garden of the late hosta guru, Paul Aden. The Hosta sieboldiana background shows through with the large, puckered, thick blue leaves that adorn the 40" tall x 5' wide clump. The giant clumps of Hosta 'Big Mama' are topped with pure white flowers in early summer on 4' tall scapes...a hummingbird celebration. As with all blue-leaf hostas, the wax fades in the heat of summer leaving the leaves green.
