Zephyranthes reginae (Valles Yellow Rain Lily) slide #11471
Yucca Do, TX / Carl Schoenfeld

Zephyranthes reginae (Valles Yellow Rain Lily)

Sun to Light ShadeZone: 7-10 6" tall Origin: Mexico

Open House/Web-Only! The common name originated from the location where the bulbs were found by plantsman Thad Howard in 1954 near the town of Valles, San Luis Potosi in eastern Mexico. From July until frost, the small tufts of narrow green foliage are a backdrop to dozens of bright lemon-yellow, silver dollar-sized flowers. This fast-multiplying clump will make a show-stopper in quick order. Zephyranthes reginae grows best in moist light shade, although ours perform well in our dry, sunny, roadside scree garden...fabulous! Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
