Trillium ludovicianum Ruby Falls coll. #A1NC-056 (Ruby Falls Louisiana Toadshade)

Part Sun to ShadeZone: 5-9, guessing 14" tall Origin: USA

NEW! We sure opened a can of worms when we discovered a disjunct population of Trillium ludovicianum in Hamilton County, Tennessee in 1998, growing alongside Trillium cuneatum. As we studied them in the wild, we found them to be earlier flowering, much taller (14" vs. 10") and with much longer and more blunt tipped petals than T. cuneatum. Although our find was once thought to be a new species, it was later determined to be a major undocumented range extension from its center of distribution in central Louisiana. Our offerings are flowering-sized nursery seed-grown plants from our original collection. These are in very limited supply, so don't delay. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
