Since thyme is quite limited in our climate, we were thrilled to find a wonderful ornamental thyme substitute. Okay, it has no fragrance or culinary value, but Herniaria glabra 'Sea Foam' looks to all the world like a variegated thyme. This discovery comes from Hortech's Dave MacKenzie. The tiny green leaves are edged in creamy white...very cute! The ground-hugging mat makes a slowly spreading patch to 1' wide in two years. If that's not enough, rupturewort is great for urinary problems, since it increases urea and sodium emission without increasing urine flow. Aren't you going to be the popular one in the neighborhood?
