These dwarf, excellent branching hybrids of our native Phlox paniculata come from Bartels Breeding in the Netherlands. Although they are stuck on stupid when it comes to naming plants, they did hybridize a great phlox. In our trials, P. 'Bareleven' makes an amazingly compact 15" tall mound of dark green leaves, topped in midsummer with branched flower heads of light pink (RHS 73B) flowers, contrasted by a dark reddish-pink eye. So far, these have been very mildew-resistant for us.
