This offering of the southeast native, Trillium maculatum, comes via PDN-grown seed from an original plant collected from a logged-over floodplain near the northern end of its range in Edgefield County, South Carolina. In the garden, these have been particularly vigorous and have developed nice offsetting clumps...very stunning in the spring garden. The olive-green foliage is nicely marked with liver-purple speckles, topped in early spring with upright purple petals. Moist soils are best, although T. maculatum is quite drought-tolerant when dormant. These are all flowering-sized plants and are 4-5 years old from seed. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
