Clematis addisonii (Addison's Clematis)

Sun to Part SunZone: 5-8, at least 30" tall Origin: USA

This rare US native shrubby clematis is only found in four counties in western Virginia, growing at the edge of dry woods. C. addisonii has proven to be an easy-to-grow, superb garden performer. C. addisonii dies to the ground each season and re-emerges in spring with large single leaves on each side of the central stem to 30" tall. While C. addisonii usually stands upright, well-grown specimens may twine gently into neighboring plants. For us, C. addisonii flowers heavily in spring, and then again in late summer and fall with lavender bell-shaped flowers with contrasting white centers. This is a superb performer that deserves to be more widely grown. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
