NEW!
This amazing South African irid is dazzling where it can be grown in the Southeast and Southwest. Since M. polystachya is summer-dormant, too much rain in the summer months can spell doom in poorly drained soils. M. polystachya emerges and begins to flower in early September (NC) and continues through light frosts on 2' tall branched flower scapes that resemble blackberry lilies. Each 1"+ light lavender blue flower is wonderfully patterned. In well-drained sites, M. polystachya is a splendid addition to the fall garden. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
